John 16:22

By David J. Stewart

John 16:22, "And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you
again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you."

People can be so mean, insensitive and cruel. Jesus knew this as well as anyone. The Pharisees were always trying to entrap Jesus in His words. When Jesus healed the 10 lepers, only one thanked him. People threw rocks at Jesus and on multiple occasions and tried to kill Him. Jesus was immensely hated for telling the truth. People hated Jesus without cause, because He was good and they were evil. Some people called Jesus a lunatic. Others accused Him of being demon possessed. The Pharisees called Jesus a deceiver. Isn't that something, the deceivers accusing the One telling the truth of being a deceiver.

Jesus made a promise to His disciples in John 16:22, that applies to believers as much today as it did back then. Jesus promised that He will return, and when He returns NO MAN will ever take our joy from us again. Jesus said, “...your joy no man taketh from you.” Amen and amen! The day is coming when no one will ever hurt us again... no more hurt feelings... no more insults... no more fakes and liars... no more exploitation... no more insensitive mean people... no more abusers... no more greedy swindlers... no more shady business deals... no more mean people to ruin our day... no more wickedness in society... no more hateful people; God will make everything right. Jesus promised that no one will ever ruin our day again or rob us of our joy in the Lord. This wicked world will pass away (1st John 2:15-17).

God will provide us with brand new bodies at the Rapture that will never get sick or suffer physical pain. No more neck pain. No more radiating pain into my arms and legs. No more burning, tingling, numbness and puffy feeling in both of my arms. My arms feel like that Rock 'em, sock 'em, knock your head off robot fighting game they used to sell decades ago. The robots had giant arms. That's what my arms feel like 24/7 due to nerve damage in my neck. It is a major discomfort. The razor-sharp pain radiating into both arms and legs is debilitating when it occurs, which I suffer throughout the times without warning. Yes, I am very much looking forward to receiving a new body, i.e., a transformed body, at the Rapture (1st Corinthians 15:52-54; Romans 8:11).

The Apostle Paul believed the he was living in the Last Days. Today, we have a much clearer picture looking back over 6,000 years of history. Today we see that we are truly living in the End Times. Revelation17:10, “And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.” Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome (a world power at the writing of Revelation), and now the Bible says the 7th king is yet to come (which will be the New World Order, i.e., the revived Roman empire, the United Nations). The Antichrist will arise to rule the UN and time will be at an end shortly thereafter for the world as we know it today. Amen, amen and amen!

We are truly at the end of time my friend. It won't be long. Are you ready to meet your Maker? I am. If you've never been miraculously born-again by the saving power of the Gospel, then I plead with you to acknowledge your guilty condition as a hell-deserving sinner, and place your trust in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, to forgive your sins. John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
